The Big D Chorus is the longest serving barbershop chorus in the DFW Metroplex.  Formed in 1946, the chorus has been entertaining audiences throughout the US for over 70 years.

With a dedication to community service, the Big D Chorus performs a variety of musical styles, including barbershop, gospel, vocal jazz and patriotic.  Members are amateur musicians who perform simply for the love of singing.  In addition, various quartets have formed from the chapter over the years, some achieving high rankings at International competitions. The chorus itself achieved an International medalist ranking early in its history.

Since then, the chorus has dedicated itself to performing for various audiences in the Metroplex, everything from retirement centers to major theatrical performances. With its hire of Mark Holdeman in  2017, the chorus rededicated itself to musical quality and growth.  The chorus also supports various vocal music organizations in the North Texas area.

On April 23, 2019, the chapter unanimously voted to begin allowing women to fully participate in the chorus. The Big D Chorus welcomes all persons to join us in song!

From 10-14-2019 until 01-01-2020, we will be rehearsing jointly with the Men of Note Chorus on Monday evenings at Care Church, 1504 East Campbell Rd. in Richardson to  prepare for multiple Christmas holiday performances. Guests are most welcome to come join us in song for the holidays!!!!
